There’s not a single player in all of the NBA that impresses me more than Derrick Rose. Sure he doesn’t fascinate the mainstream NBA fan like Lebron or Kobe, but his ability to put the game in his hands and take over is incredible.
Case in point is last night’s Game 5 vs. the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks had battled from a 15 point 1st half deficit to take their first lead of the game 65-64 late in the 3rd. Atlanta was believing especially after an unbelievable running layup by Hawks savior Jeff Teague to tie the game at 70.
But Rose would not be denied. His leadership and quickness to the goal broke the game open for Chicago. Rose scored 11 fourth quarter points as Bulls fans serendaded him with chants of “MVP MVP”.
I must say I had some questions about how Chicago would deal with adversity since there is they have not been the hunted since the days of Jordan and Pippen. With Derrick Rose leading the way I have the answer to my question. He is indeed the “MVP”.
