Are you a Sharp Bettor?

by Las Vegas Legend, James Jones on April 17, 2012

Hey, James Jones here…

Today I want to explain to you the difference in a square bettor and a sharp bettor.

What is a Sharp Bettor?

A Sharp Bettor is someone who uses every resource available to exploit the odds, such as, systems, trends, coaching strategies, player match ups, power rankings, margin of victory, player injuries, and off field variables (weather, media attention, etc).  But most importantly a sharp bettor understands risk, reward, and bankroll management.

What is a Square Bettor?

A Square Bettor is someone who bets on sports as a hobby, for a quick dollar and is very impulsive with selections.  Many times square bettors lay money on match ups with little to no logic.  Typically a square bettor goes broke often due to poor selections and very poor bankroll management.

Are you a sharp or a square?

  • Do you treat sports betting as a hobby or a profession?
  • Do you manage your bankroll properly or are you all in often?
  • Do you take several hours each day to analyze the odds and stats?
  • Do you understand coaching strategies and team match ups?
  • Do you use proven systems?

Like the old cliche goes; “It’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon”   It’s no different in sports betting, you have to be betting the games each and every day.  You have to manage your bankroll for daily selections and system selections.

The secret is to hire a sharp bettor.  Unless you can afford to do sports betting professionally truth is it’s very difficult if not impossible to beat the books!  So you need to seek the advice of quality proven sport handicappers and implement the strategies of proven systems.  Most importantly, manage you bankroll like a rock star – never risk more than 5% on a single wager.

If you consider yourself a sharp bettor and you’re doing well…  AWESOME!  Keep up the good work.
